Adding pictures

Images add interest to a website and make the site appear more friendly. It's easy to manage pictures and images with SiteBuilder

It couldn't be easier to add pictures to your webpage from SiteBuilder. To start click the Add Picture button at the bottom of the screen, and then choose where you would like your new picture to be displayed.

Once you've chosen where you want the image to go, and have clicked the relevant Add it here button you will be asked which image you want to use. This can be one you've added to your gallery already, or you can choose to upload a new image.

If the image you want to display doesn't already exist in your gallery, click the Simple Picture Upload button.

You can then choose the image (or images) you want to add to your page by selecting each one, and then clicking the Choose pictures button.

SiteBuilder will then ask you how you want the image to be displayed. You can display the image at it's actual size or choose to display it at a different height and/or width. You can also choose how you want it to display in relation to any surrounding text, whether you want it to appear next to the text, underneath and so on.

There are also options to set a caption for your image, to add a frame around the image, and whether you want the image to link to another page on your site, or another web address completely.

Quick Tip: The smaller your image is the less time it will take your visitors to download, therefore the quicker your website will be. It's a good idea to resize your images using image editing software on your computer before you upload them to SiteBuilder.

Once you've selected how you want the image to be displayed on the page, just click Done to add the image.

If you are displaying images on your site you should use an <alt> tag that will show a description of the image. Spiders (and software to help the visually impaired) will be able to read these tags and get a description of your image.
